Try to allow for a clear view when standing

and when seated. Note that the optimum

window size depends on the roof pitch.

Centre-pivot windows make it possible to

place furniture directly below the window

without obstructing operation of the

window.

Top-hung windows make it possible to

stand upright under the open window while

looking to the sides, providing extra head-

room and maximising the feeling of extra

space. These windows are also suitable for

emergency escape/access purposes.

If the window is placed out of reach,

consider electrical or solar operation that

makes it possible to operate the motor for

window opening/closing as well as interior

and exterior sunscreening products with a

remote control (see page 110).
